"When did believing in a better future become more ridiculous than believing in the end of the world?"
Fabulous question!

I’ve started doing the simple things that made me happy back in the 1980’s: going to local independent bookstores - especially the ones with used books where you can just browse and happen upon a treasure, going to local independent coffeeshops to read said books, going to farmers markets to buy from local farms, listening to my music on a stereo instead of streaming, baking, buying bread from a local independent bakery, going for long walks or a bike ride in the neighborhood without earbuds, going to the couple of independent local movie theaters, etc. These things soothe my soul.

As long as billionaires exist, we will never get to enjoy this very modest utopia.

How ironic that we now have to prove to robots that we are human. The ultimate irony. We truly get the world we deserve.

We live in a system that expects us to function to meet a monitary level even when sick, old or otherwise.

Wow, another excellent video there. I've been to college, and I can tell you that this lecture / talk is far better than anything I ever experienced at the lies of Higher Learning.

    Words matter.
History matters.
Grief is hard, Hope is heartbreaking.
Thoughts are things~they have the power to change one’s existence.
There are more of us than them. It’s always been class & spiritual warfare.
If they can convince you are worthless & downtrodden by your own actions they win.
Fuck that & fuck them.
Rise up.
Humans are flawed but my God are they amazing.

The world would change overnight if people consciously stopped supporting the system in the areas causing the most damage. But, the people that complain the loudest are usually the worst offenders at catapulting the dysfunction forward. For example, the people that complain about our surveillance state and loss of privacy are also the same people that have their smart phone glued to their hand 24/7 and cannot go 10 seconds without checking it. The people who complain about $100,000 pickups just bought one. The people who complain about how absurd $4,000 concert tickets are just got home from that concert.

STOP FEEDING THE MONSTER AND THE CHANGES WILL COME SWIFTLY. Most people still haven't figured this out.
