  Clive is such an incredibly well written character; and his design is pretty badass.  He’s not a cute pretty boy that’s 16-21 years old, he’s a rugged and handsome man in his late twenties to early thirties; it was refreshing to see an older and more mature FF protagonist for a change.

  The fact that FF6 had a shining cast does not take away from Terra's amazing story. Her search for love, humanity, hope, finally letting down her hair as she and her friends fly through a broken but mending world, it's enough to bring you to tears what she goes through.

  The slander for Squall is so strong. He arguably has some of the best and most realistic character development of any of the protagonists. No I'm not going to say he's the absolute perfect protagonist, but the character development throughout the game is truly amazing..

  Clive and cloud in S tier is all I needed to see great list. Noctis and squall would be A/S tier for me too

  Bartz walked so Zidane could run. That is how I feel character wise. Bartz's character hits a lot of moments Zidane hits. Even with him needing his friends to bring him back when he crashes.

  Tidus' relationship with Yuna is huge to the story but there is so much more to his character that makes him amazing. A big theme of FFX is legacy and Tidus' relationship with Jecht exemplifies that. Tidus is sort of in his dads shadow no matter where he goes. By the end he surpasses him as a blitzball player(the Jecht shot scene on the boat) and as a guardian.

  Tidus' laugh scene has way more weight when you realize he just learned his dad is the one causing the apocalypse

  I think Noctis is very underrated. He starts as a "rebellious kid," then matures with his surroundings, goes from being superior to being a friend and then a brother to his group, and ends up, well, the way he ends up (I love the ending of FFXV). He goes from being insufferable to being the one on the throne.

  The Warrior of Light ABSOLUTELY is a protagonist in FFXIV, regardless of the player’s interpretation. The Dark Knight class quests in that game make it very clear that regardless of the player’s input on the character, the WoL DOES carry loads of trauma and has their own thoughts and opinions on what happens in the game. The WoL does grow and change as a character from the events of ARR to Endwalker and you the player can sense that too even if it’s not immediately obvious. Definitely belongs in A tier or at least a high B.
