The way Jason is so popular in the horror genre, it still boggles my mind that he wasn’t even the original killer in the first film. And the origin of the mask is also a shocking fact to learn about

Not only is Mrs. Loomis from Scream 2 a nod to Mrs. Vorhees, but there’s a clue in the opening scene hinting at who the killer is. When Omar Epps goes to the restroom at the start of Scream 2, he listens in on the stall beside him, where he hears a faint voice saying “mommy, kill her mommy.” Ah I love these horror movies so much 🤣

Yeah, the snake scene absolutely sucks. It was someone's pet, and they killed it right in front of the guy - like other cast and crew members were holding him back while it was happening. I think the worst part is that it serves absolutely no god damned purpose, so it was just coke-fueled cruelty for padding/shock value as far as I can tell. The BTS of most of these films is always so messy (I don't think many of them were union? this one definitely wasn't), and I'm shocked no one died tbh.

Much more fun facts:

1) Enos, the guy who gives Annie a ride in the beginning of the movie, voiced Maurice in Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
2) The hands you see after Mrs. Voorhees loses her head are Tom Savini's. Big practical effects artist who worked on this film, Dawn of the Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, and Black Phone, specifically the Grabber's mask.
3) Betsy Palmer called the script a real piece of shit (like out loud. on multiple occasions. in public. to the people involved. lol) and only agreed to take the role because she needed a new car.

Anyway, messy as they are, I do hope you keep watching this series on occasion! 5 is my personal favorite. It's absolutely unhinged.

One of the best parts of this movie is having us in the killer's perspective and seeing how unimposing they seem. No one is expecting them to attack them, also the double twist the killer is a woman.... lollll

Also, I hope we eventually get a sleep away camp reaction because I unironically love that movie. That’s the better camp (in both sense of the word) horror imo

Not so fun fact(?) :( That snake was real and its handler was extremely upset that it was killed. I read this somewhere so please correct me if I am wrong. If it is, it is an extremely sad and unnecessary scene.
