Crazy how many people don't know how anchors work. If common sense doesn't explain the weight of that 100lb anchor isn't enough on its own to hold a 300,000lb boat. The scope is just as important as the anchor itself.
Shoot we'd sit out 700 to 1,000ft on the dive boats, 4 point spread 10,000lbs a piece. Shaking hands with the anchor tug was always fun.
Nothing humbles you more than watching a couple hundred feet of 2 inch cable wip itself off the deck from the anchor buoys.

That is truly the walk of shame. Even though I ran a tug and barge I never did the walk of shame. The river bottom can change in hours. You would need to back down a river. It was too hard to turn around sometimes. It was quite a challenge too Ken. I really admire the skill you have. Good watching.

If you flip the loop "hole" the wrong way the bowline knot will just fall apart. So flip the other way and get that rabbit running!

no idea how someone runs aground with the technology available. but it keeps you in business.

The first guy's motor was fine. He just wanted someone to talk to! The sea floor shifts often and the hurricane probably caused a major shift. It would be nice if everyone's depth finder (with GPS coordinates) was uploaded to a central repository so charts could be constantly updated in real-time.

You should figure out a way to use your drone to bring the line to the other boat (kidding mostly). Or maybe a remote controlled boat (not kidding).

Anybody use jet drives for towing. Seems a natural for so much shallow water work.
