No one ever accused them of being rappers. Never crossed our minds

Back in the day, nobody thought he was rapping. I was 18 when this song was released, and it was just British New Wave to us.

As others have said he's not trying to rap, its just their style.

He wasn't trying to "rap." People spoke lyrics before rap.

You are tripping. Get your mind out of rap and enjoy the English Synth track, his soft voice telling a story and the hook, black and white video in London. This is 1986 better than a lot of music today. The whole album is one hit after the other.

He's not rapping, he is just speaking the words in sync with the music. That was their style in their music. Another song you should check out of The Pet Shop Boys which they did with Dusty Springfield is "What Have I Done To Deserve This." This song was another banger for them.

"not a good rapper"...while pet shop boys has sold more than 100 million records worldwide. Also it is not really a rap song but a pop song at its heart.

They’re an iconic group, like Depeche Mode, New Order, Erasure, Duran Duran and so much more!!!!

The Pet Shop Boys are awesome! Not rappers just a pop song with some spoken word thrown in! ❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻

“It’s a Sin”, “What have I done to deserve this?”, “Opportunities”. My three other recommendations by PSB.

It wasn't really intended as a rap but was their style. They still produce new music and tour. Great stuff so glad you've done one of their songs.
