  Every single Assyrian king was boastful. They usually never talk of their defeats and prefer to just leave it out and brag about the times they won instead.

  The Tel Dan Stele, which is another king boasting about destroying the House of David, is another artifact providing extra-biblical evidence for Biblical figures being real. It's pushed back the naysayers all the way back to denying the existence of Moses... stay tuned. Interesting findings on that are being forth right now

  The agument from silence is strong here.<br>I mean, one has to argue that this specific king is not a braggart or is very sloppy at bragging in order &nbsp;for the argument from silence to crumble.<br>I mean, one has to explain why he used the cage term instead of the ransacking term.

  The Sennacherib vs. Hezekiah account is one of those rare, special cases where we can directly compare a Biblical event from both the Hebrew perspective, and an external perspective. I&apos;m not sure if an angel killed all those Assyrians (imagine all the corpses Hezekiah would have to deal with!), but it seems clear that SOMETHING weird happened to lift the siege. The Assyrians took down Babylon and major Egyptian cities, so Jerusalem should have been easy for them.
