We bought those shoes, Poll Parrot, Red Goose - there used to be a machine that would give GOLDEN EGGS from the RED GOOSE! And BUSTER BROWN! It seems like they had a great strategy

It is so bothersome to me that America's manufacturing was screwed by financial interests mainly but politics wove its way into the mox as well. America made most everything and did it well. Now it is mostly gone. You didn't have to say 'MADE IN THE USA' because most everything was - but you did have to say MADE IN JAPAN etc which at the time was joke as the stuff was so poorly made. But int the 70's Japan got its act together and  ultimately became an economic engine. How about Edward Deming? The guy worked until his 90's and told FORD tha he could so them how to improve their terrible cars at the time - but they refused and off he went to Japan--- and the story changed forever!
