The trouble with being young is it allows you to say nonsense with perfect certainty: "This applies to every belt drive BMW ever made". But,Of Course, The F650CS requires the removal of the rear swing arm . Join a group where they will archieve service info and save your money.

Thank you for the vid. Let me add few points (1) the tension check should be done with the bike on its stand and the rear wheel off the ground (unloaded) as belt tension increases as load is applied to the rear suspension (2) use a cable tie wrap (or similar) to apply 5Kg (11 ponds) of downward tension on the middle of the lower part of the belt (normal deflection should be around 32mm) (3) the blue dot/mark 7:37 does not make any sense to me unless the rear pulley is oval which is not the case on my motorcycle nor I have the mark. (4) I found on a BMW forum the follow which makes lot of sense to me: "As you sit on the bike the belt gets even tighter. I sit on the bike and twist the belt where it is exposed just behind the rear brake master cylinder. I set the tension so the belt will twist to 45 degrees from flat with a reasonable amount of pressure."

Hi, great video, super explanation, thank you very much! It's even easier and faster if you simply pull the belt off without changing the tension and slide the new one on. This actually works quite well and can be done in 15 minutes while the bike is on the side stand. Belts often break unexpectedly when a tooth breaks, and replacements aren't always readily available when you're on the go. So pack one; it doesn't take up much space and will save you expensive towing and repair costs.
