  I REALLY like Tim Mackie, but can we agree that the greatest sermon ever will always be the Sermon on the Mount?

  I started listening to the sermon but then decided to read the transcript because I wanted to see the words themselves without the voice and tone I’ve come to love and trust from the Bible Project. As I read and analyzed some of the wording that felt very familiar, I had a check in my spirit.<br><br>As someone Jesus has brought out of New Age (tarot, witchcraft, etc.), I want to gently caution anyone coming from that background. I’m not denying this brother’s experience, but terms like “altered state of consciousness” and “ego-level thinking” are heavily used in New Age and psychology-based spirituality. For those of us delivered from that world, it can sound like the goal of prayer is a particular state of mind instead of knowing God through His Word.<br><br>From what I see in Scripture (as a fairly new Bible nerd), the aim is not an altered state, but a renewed mind and a changed heart by the Holy Spirit as we cling to Christ and to Scripture. If you’re new in the faith or leaving New Age, please don’t chase experiences or “states of consciousness.” Seek Jesus Himself, stay rooted in the Bible, and let Him redefine what true prayer and presence really are. I hear that intention in what he’s saying, but I wish he had used clearer, non–New Age language to express it.

  I start my prayer time with god imaging myself in a rose garden and encountering God there, walking with him through the garden which represents my life. &nbsp;This sermon sheds a whole new light on this experience. Wow

  I was present for this sermon. I&apos;ve never been in a sermon where the whole room starts to tear up and sniffle and cry. Including me which was amazing. His honesty and humility and ability to present the truth he did through the Holy Spirit was phenomenal. I&apos;ve shared it with a lot of people and glad to see it here. I also listen to it every once in awhile. Grateful for his sharing this true Revelation of the Kingdom

  This teaching is so deep. I&apos;ve never heard the scripture explained this way. Pastor Tim it drives me to want more of Jesus to go deeper with Him. <br>I have to listen to this sermon/deep teaching again.
