I listened to this interview on my Radio Shack clock radio back in 1980!

It's interesting that the heartbeats on the picture above are reversed.

I remember recording this off the radio back in the day and listening to it as a kid over and over again. I still remember Neil talking about Natural Science and the "arcs of the spiral"... LOL.

What I really enjoy about this interview is the fact everything, especially the music, sounds so clean & pops so well. Everything sounds fantastic.

Can imagine Neil's eyes blinking, so enthuastic..thinking, so loose. Tnx for this memoir, me as a foreign radio entusiast those times 83>, found Rush around 1979. Hello all Rushians!

I don't know of many interviews with Rock musician would touch on so many thought provoking topics. Jim Ladd was really able to engage with Neil in such a way that really allowed him to express himself.

I actually had tickets to go see Rush in Chicago on the night this aired. I got my Mom to sit at the stereo and record this interview for me. It was the beginning of my Rush Fandom. I was 16yo.

Jim Ladd on KMET 94.7 a little bit of heaven. There is a two hour interview Jim Ladd has with Neil Peart that I recommend for Rush fans.

Amazing interview so much insight and detail from 33 years ago?! I’ll probably have to listen to this again.

Permanent Waves will never be a bad listen. Natural Science is close to perfection. A perfectly realized work of sonic art with a deeply-relevant theme and lyrics, in a mini-epic package. My favorite Rush track, alongside The Camera Eye, another mini-epic but with an urban theme of humanity's impact. Neil's own impact (along with his bandmates') will be felt for a long time!

First concert of my life... RUSH second round of Moving Pictures at the Philadelphia Spectrum 13 years old!! That was not common back then and everyone kept commenting on my age and asking me how old I was. I then saw every tour most of them several times up until R30 when I systematically destroyed my retirement by going to 10 shows and then more than TWO DOZEN shows for every tour thereafter including countless broker front row tickets or the first few rows. Many of you will recall my great videos that used to be on YouTube before I was demonetized on the channel ACELLOFAWARENESS. I was the first one to put up Jacob's ladder just like Neil mentioned in the interview after they played the first night in Lincoln Nebraska I literally uploaded it from the parking lot!!! I was going to skip the last two shows in Irvine and Inglewood on the last tour because I'm not a big fan of SoCal but then I asked myself "what if these are not just the last two shows of the store but the last two shows ever?" So I went yo both of them 😢. Do I have any regrets destroying my retirement account and racking up a whopping 105 RUSH concerts and seeing myself on two of the DVD's? Yes. I regret wasting the rest of my money on food and shelter 😮
