  This is what the modern FGC is missing. Who else is doing hype FT10s and money matches? Daigo did this constantly throughout his career for the love of the game.<br><br>People saying this will tarnish his reputation don’t get it. This only bolsters his reputation because Daigo is the closest thing we’ve ever had in real life that truly embodies the way of the world warrior. Like Ryu, he’s always in search of the best fight, win or lose, and never backs down.<br><br>The fact he’s still willing to lay his pride on the line in his late age only makes him even more of a legend. Hardly anybody is willing to do that these days.<br><br>Daigo will forever remain the living legend of the FGC.

  I say this with respect but Daigo is already bigger than top tier FGC competitors. Just like JWong, the Beast has earned his place as an elder statesman and ambassador to fighting games and should have an amazing post comp career. The legend is fully established.
