I feel so fortunate to have taken up wood turning as a hobby during the lifetime of such a great master of the craft.

Me Raffan isn’t just a master turner but he is an excellent teacher as well.

Thanks for explaining the utility of an acute angle by simply raising the toolrest and the economic simplicity of a normal scraper.<br>We are taught in school that an angle less than 90 degrees is called an "acute angle". So when I first heard a woodturner brag about their "negative rake" scraper, my impression was they were sold on a gimmick. Now that I've been turning for a several years myself, that impression still stands.

Thank you so much for such an informative and useful guide to scrapers! As a beginning turner, this type of instruction is invaluable and greatly appreciated. I love hour books as well! Thanks again!

Thanks so much for a very informative video. I’m just learning to turn and your demonstrations are very much appreciated. I’m envious of the turners who were fortunate enough to attend one of your in person lessons.

This ist an excellent tutorial, thank you very much. Here in Germany the efficiency of scrapers for getting brilliant surfaces ist sometimes underestimated.
