Richard Raffan is a retired professional woodturner in Canberra, Australia, known internationally since the mid-1970s, first as a turner, and from 1985 for his woodturning books, videos, magazine articles, demonstrations, and hands-on workshops. On this Youtube channel you’ll see the tools and techniques I've refined over 55 years. There’s very little speeded up video and nothing is scripted…. you’ll watch live demos similar to those I used to do at clubs and symposiums — glitches and all. You'll see solutions to common woodturning problems. To learn more about my life as a production turner and what I've made, and about my workshops and exhibitions, please go to https://www.richardraffan.com.au. There you'll also find listed my books and videos which explain my turning techniques in greater detail than these YouTube videos. Many thanks to Dave Segal who encouraged me to put videos on YouTube. Dave shot and edited the early videos.
