I’m mindful that topics like "boundaries" can sometimes reinforce stereotypes. My goal is to provide a cultural lens to help you understand the average interaction, acknowledging that Thai society is constantly evolving.

🇹🇭 Take your learning further:
It’s the app My friend and I are developing to help you learn Thai : https://speekeo.com/

☕ Support the Channel:
If you found this breakdown useful, you can support my work here: https://buymeacoffee.com/realthailander

I'm consistently impressed with how you can articulate so many nuances of Thai culture in language that encapsulates it in a meaningful way for foreigners (westerners) to understand. Thank you!

Good stuff bro, very few people talk about insight deeper into thai culture which is prob very important for a lot of foreigners living here

I really appreciate these videos about Thai culture. This is one of those things that you simple can't google. It won't show up on any list of differences between Thailand and your home country. It's one of those things that only someone who has lived in both world can describe and is so difficult to find!

Very interesting post! As a Thai who has migrated to the Western world, I've found that learning about 'boundaries' has been the most challenging concept for me. It's taken me a great deal of time to adjust—whether in dating, social groups, work, with school friends, or making friends in general. The way you described the difference between Asian and Western boundaries/culture makes total sense.

Brit here. My English mother is the same and didn't like me doing my adrenline activities when I was younger. Even now, at 53, she don't like me riding a motorbike in Thailand because she worries lol. My Thai gf took care of my English teenage daughter very well when she came over, even took her to Central for some shopping then a cocktail bar for cocktails. My Thai g/f also scolded a falang man for looking at my daughter inappropriately lol

I keep loving your videos. You have a totally unique take on life and express difficult topics very skilfully. You would have made a great lawyer, but I'm glad you chose to be human instead. You have real and rare empathy.

Very interesting. My partner and me in thailand have been together for 16 years and have a lovely 8 year old son. I am from uk and we are still trying to sort out our cultural differences..as we carry on our journey of loving each other. There is really nothing bad I can say about it.
