Austria here: There are pharmacies everywhere that offer emergency services, both at night and on weekends.

I'm retired in a small town in Sicily. I don't have or need a car. Everything is just a few blocks away from my rooftop penthouse apartment .. which costs less than $600 a month😊

Living in a small town in the Czech Republic - we love everything about it and will never go back to the U.S.! We have a large yard, free access to a beautiful park, no wait time for excellent health care, health insurance premiums are a fraction of the cost in the US and we're covered at 100%! We have a new car but frequently use public transportation, and the Czech people are great. Our only regret is that we didn't move here sooner 😊

Dude compares US suburb homes with EU city center apartments (do the same with EU suburb homes and US city condos; hint: yes, in the EU those are also large houses with big yards and pools). Also, a 24 hour pharmacy must be available within a certain radius everywhere by law. Though honestly, Spaniards are not super happy about having become so popular among Americans.

Great video!!! I was born in the USA and left when I was 24, now I am 52. Living more than half my life outside of the USA, I can tell you these are great points. It really an amazing experience living outside your country of birth, you learn more about your country when you leave it. With each passing year, I have shed my US perspective, that now the USA is the foreign country to me. One big piece of advice if you are planning to try living abroad, if you are trying to recreate a mini America in your new country, it wont work. Dont try and live in Europe but recreate what your life was like in the USA, you will be miserable. Embrace the full change.

The cities you go to in Europe will have a pharmacy open nights, evenings, and weekends. You just have to ask or search google to see which one is open. I live about 2 hours south of you and there is a 24 hour pharmacy and another with a drive up window that is open until midnight. Where I lived in NC, the pharmacy at CVS closed at 8 pm. The CVS might be open until 10 or 11 but the pharmacy closes early. Also, you mentioned wait times for appointments but you did not mention all the private options (with evening appointments) that are cheaper to pay cash than Americans pay in copayments.

Portuguese here. Many pharmacies in Europe close on weekends, BUT there are always some 'on call' open; you just have to read the schedule and addresses on the door of any pharmacy, even if it's closed.

So true: Americans live big yet don't get to enjoy the walkable options & historic beauty of Europe.

In Belgium if you call your GP if you're sick, you can get an appointment the same day. There are pharmacies on call 7 days a week and also if your GP is not on duty, you can go to the on call service which operates 24/7 . The on call services are often located near hospitals.

If you want your American life in Europe you will be disappointed. If you want a different lifestyle you will appreciate it. When I moved back after going to university in Vienna it took me two years to get used to the way of life here. I felt invisible, saw mostly poorly dressed people and isolated because I went everywhere by myself in my car. I loved the way of life there.

Well, those are real differences, but most are psichological and stem from your attachment to your country. But, in order to give some more information. I woud say this: 1. In Europe, people work to live, not the other way around. 2. Here in Spain, where I live, you feel unwell on the streets, and someone calls an ambulance ... maybe will be there in five minutes and no one will ask you about your insurance or you credit card. You will be treated with the best technology ... and you won't broke. 3. The possibility of being murdered in Europe is the same as being eaten by a bear or a shark. 4. We don't practice the custom of tipping .... Why? 🤔Sorry, I just remembered: Here the waiters and the rest of the staff are paid like regular workers + have health insurance, vacation +++++. It's a shame to live here 😂😉😇

Noticed how every sacrifice mentioned is actually a major problem in the United States, mostly waste and squandering of resources
