Hi guys. Good to see that you have chosen the Starlink Mini as an option for your forthcoming European tour. We installed one a couple of months ago and were really impressed. Sadly our tour of France is on hold since I have recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer. There's always tomorrow. Looking forward to catching up with your vlogs. Sid

Really interesting video once again thank you 😊. Can’t wait to hear how you get on with Starlink we think for Europe it would be a great option. Also hopefully later in the year you could update us on what you can do on WiFi when your subscription is “paused”. Thank you

We have just returned from 4 weeks in Europe using Starlink as our main internet source. We were very impressed, the thing we discovered is that the alignment is almost unimportant, as long as the unit has a clear view of the sky (especially centrally). Ours is mounted inside a skylight, but we often just put it flat on the ground if the skylight is tree obstructed. Because it is quite power hungry and we don't have a fixed install inverter we have added the Peakdo battery (which makes it cordless) and lasts about 5 hours. the other advantage of the battery is that we can trickle charge using a lower power USB, this extends the use time to about double or more, and we recharge fully overnight when we switch the internet off. I would be interested in how hot your Starlink gets, I know Europe was very hot in June but ours get so hot that we found ourselves looking for shady patches with a clear view of the sky. Of course the skylight will have acted as a bit of greenhouse, which might have made it worse. Currently installing a wifi router as the Starlink built in router is a bit rubbish and adds to the heat generated

Excellent video. We’re thinking of going this way for our 8 week trip to Europe next spring. Just one question. Did you consider fixing in a sucker mount in one of the skylights? I’m a little cautious on drilling through the roof as we’re still in warranty. I know internal cabling won’t be so neat as your set up but interested in your thoughts nevertheless. Thanks. 👍

Hi, first of all, great video and great motorhome too. I was just wondering if you got a good signal while driving, and if the antenna caused any issues like wind noise or vibrations.
Thanks a lot.

Hi, the link for the roof mount takes you to a pole mount with the model number 5013. In the video at 15:54, you show the install notes which says model 5019?
If I search for that model on Amazon, it says the 5019 is only for the larger gen 3 model.
Would you be able to post a link to the flat mount I believe you used?
Thanks!

Ok correct me if I’m wrong, the 7 days activation is not required after delivery? I read online that Starlink automatically activates 7 days after delivery, but I’ve just been on Starlink AI system and it clearly states there is no 7 day. It only starts when you have the mini pointing at the sky and only then when you activate you will start getting charged. I’m away working for 3 weeks abroad and it got delivered 5 days ago, then I read your sticker on the box and thought…hang on!! 😂

Have you tried compressing your videos using Handbrake? Virtually no discernible difference in video quality but typically reduce file size by a factor of 10.

How’s the router wifi from the roof into the van? I was considering just installing inside my skylight…
Currently we get a 3 month by month unlimited data for £30 so in the uk hard to beat… did the same in Spain last year… struggling to justify the £100
