  Surprising to see the dispersion of the Core essentially equivalent to the higher MOI Max! And preferred, perhaps, given Max's greatest weakness: heel hits. Core looks a little longer on some; Max looks a little tighter if you discount the heel hits (can you really do that, though?). The horizontal spread (balls in the fairway) looks similar. I would lower the loft in both from 10.5 to 9.75, which opens the clubface by 1.5 degrees, and would move a lot of those dots toward the target line. I prefer Core's slightly smaller footprint, which at least seems faster. The deciding factor would probably be Core's adjustability. Get the TAS weight kit and really dial in your shot height and spin rate. In the end, I just don't see a meaningful MOI advantage in the Max. Perhaps if you need a higher ball flight, a little more spin, and a little more draw bias. But Core's dispersion might actually be better.

  I would love to see how the robot tests out the QI4D Max 9 degree driver after you move the heavier 13g weight upfront and the lighter 3g weight to the back with a higher attack angle.  A.I. also suggests that the optimum strike on the face for this driver is 3–5 mm high, 2–4 mm toe, NOT THE CENTER OF THE FACE! I was fitted today for the 9 degree QI4D Max with the Reax 50 MR shaft to replace my Ping G410 driver and Red CB Alta regular shaft. The Qi4D Max driver head has two weights at the bottom, and the fitter reversed those weights around, moving the heavier one upfront. The result was that my spin went down from over 3,000 RPM to 1,800 to 2,200 where I needed it. A driver optimizer chart clearly showed me that I needed to reduce my spin to gain total distance, and this was what took me out there to get fitted. I have a 6.5 handicap, average 87-91 MPH swing speed, a 128-130 MPH  ball speed, 5-6 degree attack angle, and a spin loft around 12 degrees. Out of 35 shots on Trackman, the longest that I hit my Ping driver was 231 yards and my average was 210 yards. However, I was hitting the Qi4D Max over 231 yards consistently (21 yards more on average) and as far as 248 yards on my longest shot. That's an increase of 17 yards on my longest drives! So, my advice is get fitted and pay attention to those spin rates for your swing. Adjusting those weights in the driver head and getting the right shaft made a huge difference for me on Trackman. Now if I could just get a rush on my order from TaylorMade and get my driver sooner rather than later for my next round.

  Awesome stuff especially for someone with that SS…that’s me! Can’t wait to see some results with weights moving around on all three models. I play the Max Qi35 in 9 degrees currently and plan on the Max again, but some numbers o flipping weights might have me changing loft to a 10.5 or going with the core head. Looking forward to that info, I hope soon! Great stuff
