Part 1 gives a more satisfying conclusion to Denji’s character and I’ll stand on it

I deadass didn't believe the ending as I read it. I had a whole week of "nah, it's misdirection, Fujimoto is tricking me rn"

I genuinely think Fujimoto just started hating the series. He probably just wanted out of it. I wouldn’t be surprised if, consciously or unconsciously, he intentionally fucked over Denji as some sort of revenge. That, or he is so fixated on his masochistic fetish that he forced Denji to go back to it so he could be satisfied. Honestly, I don’t know which one is worse.

Isn’t it crazy that Nayuta was murdered and beheaded on a plate, and then denji never ever thinks of her again

Part 1 ending: Denji finally got to live his normal life, gets to raise with Nayuta with love to prevent the Control Devil from becoming evil, gets to go to school, gets to be Chainsaw Man killing devils, saving people and getting praise by people and learned how to overcome trauma and knows sex isn’t everything
Part 2 ending: forgets his promise to Asa in 219, Pochita gives up on Denji, forgets everything, themes and such

I agree the ending made me feel ... nothing. Even now weeks after I don't feel frustrated, annoyed, or angry. I still feel apathetic because the story feels so incomplete.

Chainsaw Man has always been a series I didn’t really get into on the level of other people, but this ending was fucking hilarious. Just absolutely and bafflingly misguided on every level, incredible

I got into it in 2021, and when I finished Chapter 97 I was HAPPY. Denji gets to raise Nayuta, hunt Devils, knows Sex isn't the end goal, and has hope for his own life.

I know the Part 2 spoilers already, but I NEVER read past Part 1 and I never will. My ending is perfecf.
