ten years or a little less ago, a girl sang this during a festival at the local music school. i didn't like her because she was so successful and seemed arrogant so i didn't pay attention to her singing. remembering it now, i realize how good she was and i wish i could've become friends with her. i'm sorry, this is for you, saphira.

Literally came here just to share my success in playing this song(my role was the bass guitarist). My parents didn’t think much of it and thought it was stupid and my interest in music was also dumb so I came here to see if anyone might be proud of me ❤️ 😢

My family took a cruise last November, and at the karaoke bar, a girl named Marisol from our area got up and sang this. She absolutely crushed it! If you’re ever in Albany, NY at a karaoke night, and a lovely tattooed young lady named Marisol gets up, you’re in for a real treat. What a solid performance!

my bf broke up with me and a very soulful homeless lady was singing this on the corner and i focused on the lyrics of the song verses the break up. now when i hear this song, i think of happier times

Amy Winehouse’s voice is so crazy, the way she transitioned seamlessly between different intonations and breaths was so seamless

“Valerie” was penned by The Zutons (a Liverpool band) lead vocalist Dave McCabe, about an American friend of his, Valerie Starr, who was having a hard time after getting caught drink-driving.

Amy Winehouse’s cover was a slowed down R&B version of the song. It was recorded in 2006, and Mark Ronson later realized it was ONE OF THE BEST VOCALS Winehouse had ever done and handed it over for inclusion on her posthumous album “Lioness : Hidden Treasure” (2011).

ONE MUST-LISTEN‼️

Always loved, never forgotten, forever missed will you remain, Amy Jade Winehouse (1983 - 2011)… 🌹
