You are right about temorary hit points not stacking, however,
Arcane ward specifically does not give temporary hitpoints, it gives an arcane ward with its own hitpoint pool that takes damage for the mage, which does stack with temp hp.

for the past 3 years my character has been on a quest to get an old lady an apple as my first quest. ONLY TODAY did i finally finish it. the DM got so caught up in the mazing ways ive gotten myself out of problems that the dm actually completely forgot about my first quest until i said "i look through my bag and find the magical preserved apple i still have to give to the old lady, i can only hope she is still alive after all this time". the DM look through their notes and gave me the most oh shit face you never want to see a DM make because the village she lived in had actually been destroyed by the demon lord's army 5 years ago dnd time. needless to say i looked for her grave stone and put the apple Infront of it apologized for being so late and retired my character after

I think one thing about the Prone situation.
5.5e
If Person A is ranged, and Person B is prone, and they are more than 5 Ft away, yes, Prone gives you protection.
However, if Person A moves to be within 5 Fts from the Person B, it's a Straight Roll.
Reasoning, because being at 5ft from a Prone gives you Advantage on ANY attack and you have Disavantage, so cancel out.
Going further, if Person A have Sharpshooter, or is a creature with an "Firing in Meele" ability, they will still benefit from the Advantage condition.

There is ten minutes of oxygen inside a bag of holding. 0:41
(10 divided by how many creatures are inside)

I have had the opposite experience with the rule of cool. Not only has it not been forgotten, but a lot of DMs make it their entire personality. It's a tool, not a DMing style, and I will die on this hill lol.

I don't know if half of those rules sounding like basic knowledge to me is a good or a bad thing

The critical point in shutting down "creative" suggestions is to remember the second half of your YNAB - Yes/No And/But; never forget the And/But side of that, especially if you really have to tell a player No because their idea is just too outlandish. Tell them why it is outlandish with an And, or redirect their creativity with a But.

6:27 at my table, we decided that a costly spell component that is not consumed could be substituted by the focus IF the caster has enough gold. A costly component that IS consumed can be substituted by the raw gold amount. So no 25000 GP diamond hunting, just have 25000 GP disappear instead

Diagonal movement is entirely up to DM discretion the DMG has the 10ft for every other diagonal square moved rule.

6:46 Foci are only necessary for spells where the caster replaces a Material component with use of their spellcasting focus. Daylight does not have a Material component, thereby not needing a focus. Casters still need a free hand for Somatic components and a free mouth for Verbal components. I do not know how telepathic races cast verbal spells.

Four-handed races can use their extra limbs to hold foci and perform Somatic components.

There is air in a Bag of Holding HOWEVER the air is also finite. It’s very specifically only enough for 10 minutes and AFAIK you can’t put it back in. Once you use up said 10 minutes worth of air that’s when it becomes a “you better be quick about it” scenario.
