Just because we can't see all the evidence doesn't mean we have to paint picture of what life was actually like.

Thank you. When more info is discovered, please share. People intentionally buried the site so it would not be destroyed. Incredibly wonderful.

Turkey must be the most fascinating place in the world… what puzzles me are the ‘handbags’ that show high up on one (or more?) pillars, as they are famous and intiging in soo many other remains of other ancient civilisations that have these handbags in common.

There is zero evidence is deliberately filled. Latest info suggest landslides overtime continually ruined the site, a reason why each newer build is less sophisticated. It was eventually abandoned because it was too difficult to maintain.

The attraction for the hunter gatherers may have been beer.

Nearly everything said here should be preceded by saying "It is speculated that.........." And the lack of admitting that, is why many of us think "If they found a toilet, they would conclude it was used for religious purposes." Scientific research has turned into establishment of a box and everything needs to fit the box, rather than proceeding with an open mind, admitting "we do not know". <br>However, the problem may have more to do with "reporting as concluded" rather than as speculation. We are gathering, from experience, that most reporting is done by ignorant minds, especially ignorance of proper use of language to convey ideas.

It seems to me that Göbekli Tepe was buried because it was regarded as evil and incompatible with the contemporary beliefs. It must have been a destructive act to destroy the past and move on to something probably simpler.
