I think the pillars are decorated roof supports. Nobody builds a big structure like this then leaves it open to the elements.

They might have been places for drinking fermented grain products and some were perhaps brothels whilst others were possibly gambling dens?
How does that fit the evidence.

The cereals were for brewing...it was a tavern and place where the women could 'meet' men...the oldest professions in the world. And the skulls were probably those of the first innkeepers and brewmasters.

Why do they think the pillars were sacred? Maybe they were just roof supports.

The structures at Gobekli Tepe are neither temples nor towns, they are hermitages.

My hypothesis is that they were occupied by hunter-gatherer people running experiments in consciousness supported by pilgrims bringing them offerings of food up from the Heran plain. The T pillars are images of ancestral practitioners of the praxis that was engaged inside - yes - the enclosures of Gobekli Tepe.

Thank you for this video, very interesting !

Ask the shamans, they will tell you that stones are for the dead, wood for the livings.
Check West for the dead. The livings are certainly settled East.
The dead are teaching their wisdom, by oral traditions, by stories.
So we may imagine this place guarded by priests/shamans from that time.
A place of teaching, kind of a university, to keep the memories ans sharing knowledge.
We can imagine some regular ceremonies where different tribes may gather and bring offerings.
Perhaps these ceremonies or celebrations involved sacrifices (animals and humans).
At that time, their was the human tribes, the animal tribes, and the sun, the moon and the stars.
And don't forget psychedelics, such as mushrooms or other.
Now think in therms of anthropology.
Sharing a common system of beliefs... is social engineering.

Thanks again for this video !

I think the "handbag" motif is repeated in the Sumerian culture. If they had no farming where did they get their calories? I understand the climate then was wetter in that era, therefore more game and they were likely to gather seeds of wild grasses.
