  This documentary feels like watching the last American frontier in real time. Massive wealth, endless desert, brutal work, and tiny towns carrying huge importance for the entire country. The contrast between million-dollar school facilities and rough oil camp life was honestly unforgettable. Respect to the workers pulling 16-hour shifts in that heat — not an easy life at all.

  My wife was born and grew up in Kermit. It is the most depressing place in all of Texas.

  I worked for Halliburton in early 1980 and 1981 what an experience spent time in Odessa as well as all over west Texas I remember once the company had us go into town to Broncho chevrolet and pickup 12 brand new trucks wow talk about spending the money 💰

  I grew up in Midland, went to school in Odessa, worked as an oil field surveyor and also a Production Assistant on Black Gold for two seasons. This episode hits differently for me, great work!

  You should have gone to orla too. Ten years ago it was a stop sign and almost nothing else. Now there&apos;s a traffic light, two gas stations, and almost nothing else.😂

  The smell ranges from dirty diaper gas wells to the most exquisite desert bloom in the morning dew. I drove UIL students to meets all over out there and knew where to stop to see secret dinosaur footprints.<br><br>Red Bluff was a water skiing &quot;resort&quot; that had red worms in the water.
