I lived in both cities for an extensive amount of time and Bangkok wins in every category except air quality and Ho Chi Minh is not that much better either. Ho Chi Minh is still far behind when it comes to infrastructure, accommodations, service... except a small area in downtown. There is also this weird thing about Vietnamese that a lot of them are extremely curious about whatever you're doing for some reason. Staring is a part of life there.

The thing with these new buildnigs is the rooms feel like hallways. Not an issue if you don't spend much time in your room, but feels too small and boxy for me.

I live in this building. Expat from US. My vietel home internet is higher speed than quoted. No issues on zoom.
