  The things you don't like are things you can adjust in the world settings. 'Distance to locations' and 'class specific recipes' I believe.

  If you want you can disable class specific recipes in the world settings. I do the same thing in my world cause I also don't like those

  I believe they recently changed the distance between story locations in a new update to be less harsh but it only applies to newly generated worlds unfortunately. My world is on an older version so I also have to travel for hours irl to reach the story locations. I understand the struggle lol

  if you want to know more of the story you basically need to find old books in the bony soil and ruin locations, its basically rng luck with the soil but it fills in a lot of holes. I hope to see you make a library with the books! that would be so cool to see!

  I believe you can use anything related to linen to repair clothes, such as thread. <br>From the Vintage Story Wiki: &nbsp; &nbsp;Clothing can be repaired by grabbing the Flax twine from inventory, and left clicking with it as your cursor on a piece of clothing. <br> &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Fur or cloth pieces of equipment can also be repaired using a Sewing kit (+75%) or Linen (+50%).<br> &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Damaged clothing can be repaired by 10% using flax twine, by 50% using linen, or by 75% using a sewing kit.
