  My last seizure was on Halloween 2020. I’ve had eight total, and one of them actually happened while I was flying an Airbus in X-Plane—just a sim, thankfully. I don’t remember everything, but I know I vomited and needed 30 to 45 minutes before I could even begin thinking straight again. Recovery doesn’t happen all at once—it comes in stages: unconsciousness, confusion, partial awareness, then eventually full clarity. You might move, but you’re not really “there” yet.<br><br>That’s why the Lufthansa incident stood out to me. The co-pilot had a seizure alone in the cockpit and still managed to unlock the door before the emergency override timer expired. From someone who&apos;s been through it—I can say that’s remarkable. You don’t act with purpose in that state unless it’s pure instinct or muscle memory. And after something like that, there’s no way he could’ve continued flying the aircraft. He was done for the day, no question.<br><br>And credit to Ben for pointing it out—good thing it was an Airbus.<br><br>Sometimes, the plane saves you.

  This one-pilot thing is a wonderful idea and should be implemented after a testing period. A great test would be on U.S. Airforce One, that carries the president. Let&apos;s try it there for a few years first.

  I&apos;m not a pilot. But a big fan of your channels. I would never get on an aircraft with a single pilot. NEVER EVER!

  Huge thank you Peter and Ben for covering this topic. I am an A320 pilot myself and was thinking about this rumors of single pilot operations for some time. On top of everything what was said there are few more issues I can see. First, now there are two people in the cocpit, CPT and FO. In Europe to become an airline captain you practically need at least 3000 hours but you can become a FO straingt after the flight school. And then for the next 4-5 years we&apos;re gaining experience in the real life and observing guys on the left seats to be able to handle the commander&apos;s responsibility in all kind of situations. With only one pilot in the cockpit, how would this progression look like? Second, what about controlled rest? If one pilot is taking a nap, who&apos;s flying? 3rd, the fact it&apos;s 2 of us there gives possibility to brief, point out mistakes or, which is also quite important, to have a casual conversations during a quite borring cruise phase which also helps to remain properly awake and in the loop during the long sectors.

  Love this podcast! No pilot should be left alone in the cockpit. I compare this to an operating room / theatre. Any member of the team during surgery who must leave , is replaced with a professional of the same caliber to take their place! You don’t have an extra pilot onboard so a crew member should go into the cockpit during BR break!

  Petter, Ben, this is fantastic! I&apos;ve been subscribed to MentourPilot and MentourNow for almost 3 years and while I love how the production quality of the videos has gone through the roof and off to the moon, the free-form style of this podcast is very comfortable to listen to. The authenticity is top-notch, and you both really know your stuff. As someone involved in safety, I really appreciate how you both strive to show everyone, in and out of aviation, how important a healthy safety mindset is. Can&apos;t wait for more content!   Hi guys, podcast form suits you really well.<br>From a technical perspective, I would suggest getting rid of non-essential visuals that do add production value to more sophisticated and scripted videos from the other two channels but might feel like a little too much for the podcast form.<br>Of course you should keep all neccessaries overlays (refering to other videos, showing a particular system you never mentionned, or even onscreen acronyms explanations..etc), what I target here is what appears to be stock footages. From what I read in the comments, it&apos;s your talking that brings us, and keeps us here. You can trust that to be sufficient, do not fear to lose the attention we all are desperate to give to your content !<br>What a great news you guys are doing this though, very much looking forward to the next one.<br>Cheers from France !
