  The music in the movie is from Ennio Morricone, an legendray italian composer who made a lot of popular movies like: Once Upon a Time in the West (1968).

  I love the line “I think I’ll have a drink“ not just bc it’s a great retort, but bc it shows that Ness isn’t necessarily against alcohol, he’s just pro the law, and is willing to risk his life solely for that

  During filming. Costner said a woman watching the filming kept waving at him while he was talking to Connery between takes. When he had a chance to go over to her, she smiled, handed him an autograph book and said &quot;Can you get me Sean Connery&apos;s autograph?&quot;

  What many modern viewers probably don&apos;t realize is that this is film is an adaptation of a TV series which was popular in the 1950&apos;s... based on the pursuit and eventual capture and conviction of Al Capone by &quot;Elliot Ness and the Untouchables&quot;... the events of the film compressed many of the events from the series into a single film (similar to how the tv series, The Fugitive was compressed into a film for Harrison Ford&apos;s version). &nbsp;<br><br>Yes, Capone was &quot;only&quot; sentenced to 11 years in a Federal Prison in November of 1931, (plus approximately $50,000 in fines and court costs) plus he was ordered to pay over $200,000 in back taxes. &nbsp;In addition, he was also sentenced to six months for Contempt of Court (which he served concurrently to his 11 year sentence -which was a HUGE deal at the time considering the conviction was for tax evasion, not even considered to be a violent crime). &nbsp;He served his sentence time in Atlanta, GA and later Alcatraz (San Francisco, CA) and was released on Nov 16, 1939 after serving seven years, six months, and fifteen days. &nbsp;He was suffering from late stage syphilis at the time of his release and entered a Baltimore hospital for treatment. &nbsp;He died of a cardiac arrest in 1947

  Bob Hoskins was paid a fair amount NOT to appear in this film. Early on it didn&apos;t look like DeNiro was going to be available to play Capone so Brian DePalma paid Hoskins to keep his schedule clear so he could play the role if they couldn&apos;t secure DeNiro. DePalma was up front about it with Hoskins so there were no hard feelings and Hoskins got a story out of it to tell on the talk show circuit (plus $200K).
