Have to admire after all this time at MCN your patience and enthusiasm to answer questions that you've been asked many many times especially from inexperienced riders. Love the channel👍

The new GSXR 1000 is the working man’s Superbike. I think with the changes made to the engine, Suzuki has opened the door for the racing community to extract some competitive horsepower out of it. Time will tell. I’ll keep riding my beautiful GSXR 750 K7.

Love the new gsxr and surprisingly many people are actually happy about it. Some youtubers (particularly few American youtubers) were really salty and harsh on the new gsxr but their own audience called them out and were unhappy about their take on the new gsxr. Im glad it exists and from what i have seen majority of the motorcycle lovers are as well.

Hey Michael. Great to get the instruction and to meet you in person. Day flew by, learnt loads and had great craic chatting to you. 😀Hope to see you in Ireland soon...maybe a trackday at Mondello or a spin to the Ring of Kerry. Take care.

Weirdly I care less about how the new GSXR stacks up against the competition if the price is right, I'm just happy it's back in Suzuki's line up! It's only right and proper 😊

💯 the fact that Europe didn’t have a Suzuki GSXR 1000 was madness.

Hi Michael <br> You've just mentioned the K5 again (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ND-ssBAcMN0&t=465">07:45</a>).<br>I've been out of the riding game for 17 years. Managed to perfectly hit a deer with 85mph in Guildford in 2008 with my z750.<br>That's was enough to put me off from the bikes for a very long time.<br>Well the plan was in 2008 to buy a K5. I was just ready to sell my Z when the accident happened.<br>I started to get the itch the ride again. And of course, it could've be only 1 bike on my mind...<br>Started to watch every possible videos on YouTube, then I came across your vid, when you're riding your brothers K6. That was the "last nail in the coffin" <br>After an intense search and waiting i found one. Great prince £3.6k, low mileage 17.5k miles. Service history. <br>I've have to say, driving it home in the van my fingers were shaking from the excitement for a solid 45mins.<br>Next day straight away helmet and protection kit shopping and back for the bike to ride it for the 1st time. <br>H**y s**t ahahha what an absolute brutal kit this is. And the sound with the Yoshi tri-oval. I'm over the moon with it. And it is a K5 which was my dream since it's been realised and Corser won the championship with it. <br>All I'm saying. Thank you for all these really good and informative videos you're doing for us. And yes I've been following you since early 2000's and it was so inspiring to see you're talking about it again in 2024/5 that i had to go for it! Now with babysteps I'm just gently bonding with her! Thanks again Mr Neevesy!

I’ll freely admit that I think part of the problem (and I am part of it myself) is that 2000s bikes were and are just too good. I’ve had my 2007 GSX-R for approaching 15 years now and it’s still going strong. It has never really left me wanting, at least not enough to justify a new motorcycle. A lot of the times when I go the twisties most of the bikes I’ll see are 2000s bikes. They’re still going strong and have huge market share on the used market. Less and less people around my area can justify buying a new motorcycle when you can get a perfectly great used one that will hold its value for relatively cheap.

I would definitely buy a new gsxr750 at 60! Had the ‘85 new and reckon it’s the perfect bike for fun.

The best thing about the GSXR 1000 is the bang for the buck. Yes it has fallen a little behind in performance compared to V4 and BMW. But not that far behind! And unless you need that small percentage because you are racing, is it worth it to spend an extra 5 to $15k. Absolutely not. If all you are doing is some normal to spirited riding, and are not competing on the twisties or track, you will get the same enjoyment for nearly half the cost. And be more comfortable doing it. So as you mentioned it is dependent on what they cost when they come out.

While I don't think every motorcyclist needs to be a mechanic, basic maintenance does a couple of things - there's the maintenance part, but it also puts you in a position to spot things - a loose bolt, bearings that are rough etc.. Shops look at what you tell them to look at and that's it. Not much between you and an unpleasant experience - why put total all your trust in someone else.<br><br>Rode with a guy who wiped his machine down every morning before riding. I teased him, but he explained that it allows him to look for issues and gives him the focus to spot things. Granted it was a 40s Indian, and parts still failed over the course of a day's ride, but a word to the wise and all that.<br><br>I think it also creates a bond with the machine. For me that's part of the gig.

Hi Michael, talking about the new gsxr1000, I was reminded how Suzuki approached replacing the 'Busa with the latest generation. Conservative with a small c.<br>Always interesting to hear your thoughts and the associated wisdom amassed from many years riding on road and track.<br>I reckon you are one of those natural born teachers of your craft and therefore I'm not in the least surprised riders seek you out for guidance. I wasn't aware you offered this level of training.<br>✌️
