Thank you. An excellent episode. Your commentaries on the Divine Council parallel, and very concisely capture, the key points of Michael Heiser's extensive writings on this topic.

Fascinating to hear people discuss in great depth what will most likely happen to me once I'm dead.

Always wondered why this part of belief and faith is not talked much about as portions of this insight are scattered throughout the Bible...
Ephesians 6:10-20 stands out in my mind. Witnessing so many corrupted, bent towards ungodly, greed-lust and hatred towards others,
seemingly unaware or noncarig that their actions and conduct are contrary to the teaching of our Lord Jeasus Christ.....

Thank you for answering my question about resurrection. I agree that the Scriptures seem to teach that the wicked will be resurrected, but not unto immortality.

John 5:24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.”

The wages of sin is death.

Irenaeus taught that the nature of resurrection for the lost is into mortal and corruptible bodies and the same kind of bodies they previously inhabited so they could be judged.

They will die a second death in this state.

I think historically the church erred by stating 1 Corinthians 15 bodily nature is for universal mankind, a “recapitulation of universal human nature.” I think this was a subtle but significant change from the Scriptures and apostolic teaching. It is still what the EO and Catholic Church teach.

Hello John. My brother in Christ. Your concerns show that you are not just on the right track, YOU ARE SAVED. Martin Luther, until he read the words "The just shall live by faith" probably had similar concerns. Being Saved, go now, and glorify Christ in all your works and deeds.

@14:35 It was sooo good to hear our dear Brother Tom clearly state that humans - do Not have a disembodied soul!
I've always thought that since Jesus was the firstfruit of our own ressurection and of our having our own 'gloryfied' body........meaning our dying and getting our new immortal bodies, would be accomplished much like it was with Jesus. The only difference is that Jesus got His new body right away and we of course will have to wait until the day of the Lord.

I said all that to say this - and to enforce the fact that we indeed do not have a sort of spirit being inside our human frame. We can know this bc Jesus did not leave His physical remains behind. Jesus, the firstfruit, left his grave empty!
Will our deceased bodies get up and dig out of our graves before we get our new body? Gotta wait and see on that. The fact remains that if humans and if Jesus possesses some spirit being soul then His 'ghost' would have left the tomb while His corpse stayed behind!

It made my day hearing Tom say as much. Maybe you can press him further on that Brother Byrd?
Blessing to you Sir
