I love how this is less "Game dev advice" and more "Group therapy session you didn't consent to." 💀

- Anyways, same time next week?

I like how Unreal is not even in the debate.

Starting small is really the best advice. I started using RPG maker in August to be able to make something without coding to start. I made a small game and put it out itch. I learned a good amount about structuring a project and fitting things together.
I gained a lof of confidence just releasing something and having people play it.

Now I'm making a horror game in rpg maker for a game jam and I can see huge improvements over my first game already.

The more unhinged the presentation the more accurate the advice 📈

I took a slightly different approach. I have a dream game in mind, but I broke the road to get there into much smaller pieces.

I listed all the features I’d need for my dream game and then looked at what the absolute minimum would be to turn some of those features into an actual game. Then the next feature becomes the foundation for another game, building on the same core.

So right now I’m somewhere in the middle of a journey that will hopefully result in 4 games. The funny part is that while making my dream game, I’m accidentally going to end up making 3 other games along the way — and each one should be a little bigger and better than the previous one. :DDD

Also, I love your videos and this format. Keep being cool!

Making a game for four years without publishing anything is a skill issue too but we're still alive. :hand-pink-waving:

I can't believe you called me a minimum viable product. You're not wrong, I just can't believe you said it.

I did my to do list...

1) Do something
2) Celebrate by Starting Drinking
3) Wake up three weeks later in different country

Hmmm... I think I need to be more specific... because there might be a flaw in my plan.
