Blackest Night would be the perfect way to close out the DCU.

For me, the perfect main villain of the DCU is Vandal Savage he's the first metahuman and the first immortal. He's a criminal master mind with centuries worth of training and experience.

Honestly, I wouldn’t mind if it’s something green lantern related like Parallax or Blackest night

Even though I do think it's a bit too soon to start guessing who will be the new Big Bad of the overall DCU, as I would vastly prefer they have villains like The Legion of Doom, The Centre, Vandal Savage, Crime Syndicate, etc., as the main villains of the first chapters of the DCU. However I do agree that adapting Blackest Night and having Nekron as the big bad of the DCU makes a lot of sense as Blackst Night is not only one of the best DC event comics but that storyline feels like such a great epic conclusion for whhat could a saga of hyperthetical Green Lantern projects but also feel like a conclusive ending to the DCU especially since its a massive threat that effects all corners of the DC UNiverse and all its characaters. Ive even written my own pitch for a 2-part cinematic epic adaptation of Blackest Night for my own pitch for a Green Lantern film franchise.

I think the only way to do blackest night story requires two things: 1. Like you said gotta set up all the lantern corps. But 2 the most challenging one: got to set up a bunch of DC characters and have them killed off so that they can become black lanterns.

I'd love to see a Justice League based on the Project Cadmus storyline from JLU. If they decided to do a sort-of Captain America Civil War movie in their slate, but without the JL fighting each other, but instead other heroes/villains were sent to arrest or kill them. Which also a great opportunity to adapt the Public Enemies story.
