No public money for stadiums. The owners should sell stock in the team to raise money to build stadiums. That is capitalism. Not taking from us which is Socialism for the rich.

Just what we need, more talent dilution where pitching 5 innings is considered a full week's work, .250 BA is considered a sure $100 million contract, and obvious defensive errors are rarely scored. Yea, no thanks

There is also the matter of the potential loss of games in 2027. That revenue loss will be similar to the situations the owners faced the last two times expansion happened (losing the collusion case of the late 80's and the '94 strike). They will want that expansion fee to make up for that lost revenue.

Excellent explanation. The amount of the expansion fee any individual current owner receives has to be more than the amount he foregoes in years to come. A classic economic example of the time value of money. That is, a lump sum today versus a stream of income into the future. A good economist or even a good accountant should be able to tell you how much that has to be.
