  I always understood the blurb of the trinket to mean that a higher percentage of 3-star animals would appear, as opposed the 'normal' amount of 3-stars you'd come across. I never noticed the 'upgrading' it did, because I never hunted an animal with fewer than 3 stars unless I needed the meat or was just trying to fill out the compendium.

  I tend to think it was mostly for those situations where your horse accidentally steps on a good kill 3-star carcass, or it falls down a hill or some other bad luck event that's sometimes beyond your control.

  Nice info.  I thought it just increased your chance at encountering perfect animals in the wild.  It never occurred to me it could restore one I messed up

  This is how I've always understood it to work, thanks I believe to another of your videos. Nice item to have, not necessary. Might save you if you mess up, but don't count on it. Very nice thurogh explanation, Frank.

  The best one is the legendary woodpecker trinket, after killing the legendary woodpecker, take its beak to a fence to get the legendary woodpecker beak trinket, this trinket increases the length of Arthur's wood  pecker by 3 inches. This is very useful when interacting with Mary Beth.

  Hey Frank thanks for investigating and clearing that one up. I believed there to be more pristine animals to spawn overall, &nbsp;but looks like I was wrong all these years.<br>keep up the good work

  Always appreciate the video Frank, thank you! That trinket has saved me a few times when my aim was not good or my horse nudges forward a bit as I fire or shoot the arrow on a three star. Weapon choice and headshots are still the priority so I need to get better at my skills. If the trinket returns the quality then it&apos;s good but I need to improve on my manner of hunting.

  As always, great video Frank. While carrying the buck trinket, I&apos;ve noticed that if you kill a 3-star animal and you find the carcass has dropped to 2-star, skinning can restore it, but if you take the entire animal to the trapper it will remain 2-star. You have to skin it to restore the quality. On small animals, you can shoot a 3-star and drop it to a 2-star (very likely) and when you pick it up it&apos;s still a 2-star but putting into the satchel restores it to 3-star.
