I have type 2 bipolar. Depression can take away so much motivation from me I can become catatonic, totally bed ridden and physically unable to move. Just a drooling zombie. I can go days or a week without showering, when I'm a two showers a day guy. Depression to me is like having a demon possess you. My thoughts and feelings are no longer mine. All I want to do is die because I am incapable of doing anything else. My memory is terrible, I cannot think clearly, I cannot see clearly, everything is like living in hell, literal hell - nothing is right, everything is rotten and broken and I just want to die. It is a scary lonely personal hell.

Hypomania is the opposite. My brain is fast, I am a creative genius, witty, quick, confident, hilarious, sexual, just like Robin Williams. It starts losing an hours sleep, then two, then eventually I cannot sleep - and do no get tired. As energy levels increase, and I lose more and more sleep and my mind gets faster and faster, I end up in a very uncomfortable agitated state where I lose all self control and become a very very hostile person. I am very narcissistic when manic and talk about myself endlessly and my plans for success.

being manic or depressed is not being who I truly am. And as time has gone on the episodes have worsened. Now I realize how real bipolar is and how I have no choice but to treat it in order to one day have a nice marriage, nice house nice car, nice family. that's all I want is to be a good family man with a good job. Only achievable if I control my bipolar. I am a suicide survivor too.

My ex-husband died of suicide in 2010. He was bipolar and had returned to drinking after 22 yrs sober. Sad story. He was very successful too.

When you're on lithium make sure you get your blood test done because if you don't have your Levels taken you can end up having liver problems and your kidneys can shrink so always make sure you get blood test done so they can look at all your levels I'm not bipolar or anything like that but I have a friend the other friend I knew before died from kidney failure he was much older than me but he died at 58 because they didn't check his levels consistently enough so always make sure that if you have a friend that has bipolar make sure they continue to get their blood levels checked to be safe

"People with depression often don't report their symptoms to health professionals because they assume their deep sadness is just a passing emotion". That's funny to me, because that's exactly what I tell myself when I'm feeling low. Which is pretty much always. I never know if I have depression or not, I just think I'm an ungrateful bitch and nothing more

That poor little girl spoke so eloquently about her mommy and how she couldn’t help her but wanted to.

Up, downs, voices as I fall asleep, anger is explosive, anxiety. I'm so scared for my daughters, I love them so much.

Thank you for this video. I can only hope that this will lead to a some type of cure, or a better understanding for those who don't understand this grotesque illness, that robs people of their very minds. God Bless.

Nine out of ten people are misdiagnosed...and teens are the hardest to understand their moods.. We don't even know when our loved ones are at risk..whats a crime is when we do not want to know..That is a shame.

My heart goes out to Trudi and the other sufferers; when Trudi's daughter speaks of Mommy's anguish, it's heartbreaking
