Back in the days when a record label would let a band fill a whole album side with one song. Classic Rock doesn’t get any more classic than this song. A staple cover for any garage band in the late 60s. 😎👍

This song deserves to be more widely known.

I was 15 when this came out. Was not uncommon in school to hear kids tapping out the drum solo on their desks. I'm sure the teachers didn't appreciate tho.

There was a time, long ago now, when a rock concert was not complete without a killer drum solo. I really miss that. Love that you loved watching this! Peace …

I was a teenager during the hippie dippy 1960s, and it amazes me that bands I took for granted back then because I heard them all the time, that some people now a days have NEVER heard of them; I’m like what! They were all over the place when I was growing up, they were all over the news, how could you have never heard of them or their songs?? Am I that old? are do people just don’t care to research the music they are responding to?

I have always felt that Iron Butterfly is the Godfather of heavy metal! I was in a local rock band in 1968 and we were fortunate to not only have a very gifted drummer but a fantastic organist asa well! Both could play these parts note for note, beat for beat! Often times the dance crowd would enf up just standing on the dance floor and watching, almost like in a trance. It was great!

73 now, back in 1968 we carried this vinyl around, because we had teachers who would let us play this during a study time. Gee I miss being a hippie!
