  What haunts me most isn’t just the disaster…<br>It’s knowing that most of these were preventable — but someone looked the other way.<br>That’s the real horror.

  Crowd crushes are one of the scariest events to me. Not being able to scream for help or do anything to help your situation. Humans packing SO tight it is later difficult to remove their bodies.... And it can happen in nearly any public space. Terrifying and what a horrible way to go.

  Imagine surviving in the dark, alone, under thousands of tons of rubble with no food, only rainwater to sip on, for 17 days. All those agonizing minutes, hours, and days, not knowing what time it was, if it was day or night, and knowing you will probably never be rescued. Then all of a sudden....you hear people.... rescuers! I mean, what a surreal and unbelievable experience.

  Lee Joon had so many opportunities to not have a disaster on his hands, but he chose corner cutting to squeeze short-term profit at the expense of everything else every time. Then again, how will people like him ever learn when he manages to skate by on a relative slap on the wrist of only seven out of ten years served for directly making the decisions that led to 502 people killed and almost twice injured. By contrast non-premeditated murder of one person in SK is a 25-year sentence.

  When there is a festival or other type of feast in my town the police and fire department usually set up fences with checkpoints in the busiest places, and they keep count of the amount of people inside and close the gates for new people when it gets too full. A lot of people always complain about this every time and say it is so annoying and unnecessary... But of course they do this for good reason as situations like in this video happen too often unfortunately...

  The people found in the Sampoon rubble over a week later makes me wonder how many people could have still been rescued from the Surfside condo disaster

  Having worked in architecture those changes strike me as absolutely insane and just asking for a disaster to happen.
