  Always love your audio history lessons Lenny. Keep em coming! My wife surprised me with a CD player for my birthday in 1985 and I never looked back. I sold, gave away and donated my vinyl and a few years ago donated my turntable. CDs rule!

  I used to live in Maryland and wish I'd known about you.  I would have visited.  Today, I'm in Boca with three full racks of incredible 1990s and 2000s Pioneer Elite, Sony ES, and Marantz M1.  Each rack is the best of what they sold at that time, in Excellent to mint condition.  All sources are from Goodwill and eBay.  I'm a tech guy and use AI to do all of this for me.  Today I'm collecting NOS blank tapes, CDs, and albums to listen to.  I did the hardware find; now it's all about the music and reliving my youth.  These are getting harder and harder to find.  Try finding a Maxell Type IV.  $40 per tape.  Crazy.  I love the knowledge you're sharing.  Thank you.

  All hifi is nice until you lose 60% of your hearing spectrum in one ear. For me all my hifi passion died suddenly. I went from an outstanding 22khz high spectrum to barely 3khz in one ear. For me it was a devastating heartbreak, but life continues.

  My Marantz CD 80 has 1541 and great running gear and a good digital out.. bought new in 1990 for €2000. Serviced once... Great investment

  Gracias por el aporte. Para mi equipos con el DAC ....TDA 1540 -1541 y el PCM 61 y el PCM 63...me gustan mucho. Seguro debo saber algo mas....? Hoy es lo que puedo comentar. Gracias Cordialmente desde España os saludo.

  There are many problems with this explanation, but the most important one is that you will never hear these differences.<br>If you would do proper AB blind testing, between correctly functioning CD players, DACs, you will never hear real difference. What you might hear are just slight difference of the tonality of the whole system, but never the 120 db dynamic range, or rounding error etc....<br>These are all silly. Whatever you claim.
