  There’s a bit of history with this place. The original Terry was a Smithfield Market trader and opened it back in 1982 — a proper London greasy spoon: cheap, no-nonsense, and serving the locals in an area that’s always had a high level of social housing.<br><br>His son then took over — the bloke you see in the video — and later bought the butcher&apos;s next door, Suffolk Meats, which was a cracking little butcher. He combined the caf and the butcher&apos;s, turning it into what it is today.<br><br>He then capitalised on the growth of Borough Market as a major tourist attraction, and sadly, for the locals, the place became far too expensive. I worked as a manager for a local housing association for 15 years, so I know the area and its community pretty well.<br><br>It’s a real shame what it’s become. I’ve eaten there, and it’s definitely not worth the money. It’s become a tourist trap, and the locals gave up on it years ago.<br><br>Proper shame, really — it was once a place for the people who actually lived there.
