  The first story.... gosh. I&apos;ve lost both of my parents, and the news delivery was also very sudden. It&apos;s scarier than any kind of horror stories.

  I have a theory about Ted, and some details from the first story I think explains it a little. The person in the first story described their encounter as being an outer body experience, and mentioned how they mirrored the words of the person they saw(or rather the person they saw was a hallucination that mirrored them). I think something similar happened to Ted. In his panic, he most likely believed he was about to die. So to cope with that possibility, he hallucinated another being eating those things, but it was in fact him that ate those things. He mirrored his hallucination, which would explain why all the things found in his stomach were the things he described seeing the creature eat. The creature having burned and charred skin probably came from the thought that he would’ve been the one burnt to a crisp because of the sheer closeness of the fire. Fear is an extremely powerful thing and when you’ve worn down your brain in isolation like that, it becomes just weak enough to snap in a situation where you’re convinced you might die. That was also another parallel to the first story, because in the first story there was also a big fire in close proximity. Anyways, I’m not sure if my theory is correct but it’s fascinating and interesting to try to figure out!

  I cried after the first story. It reminds me of my own grief when my father suddenly passed away so many years ago. I didn&apos;t get a chance to say good bye and he never got to know his grandchildren. At the same time I found out my ex wife cheated on me and I was packing my bag to go to boot camp.

  I&apos;m narcoleptic and get frequent hypnagogic hallucinations and I can promise anyone, they feel 100% real. But the guy in the first story...I feel like he experienced something else. Something actually real.

  Perhaps the fire lookout stories evoke mental pictures easier than other things for me, and maybe some of it is that I&apos;d love to check one out for a bit... but whatever the reason they are my fave.
