  Can we just talk about the fact that Luna had two holidays about her as Nightmare Moon? Nightmare Night, a parallel to Halloween, is a holiday where everyone dresses in costumes so Nightmare Moon won’t come and murder them. Then the Summer Sun Celebration, celebrating Nightmare Moon’s defeat. While Celestia did later say the Summer Sun Celebration became a celebration of Luna’s return, it is still celebrating the sun, day, and Celestia. It’s also clearly a parallel to the longest day of the year. I always thought they should have a Winter Night Celebration, celebrating Luna, night, and the moon, a parallel to the longest night of the year.

  It really deserves admiration how chill she is after being banished for 1000 years. And how she managed to remain absolutely sane after so much time alone, too. I mean, wow, 1000 years. It&apos;s a very big deal, and she never even mentions that.<br>I think writers just didn&apos;t care much for a children&apos;s show. So they never thought of such things.

  Honestly, i think that luna was in a coma like state when she was banished to the moon. No one can survive that long without turning insane.

  Luna&apos;s story always makes me cry because I feel the same way she does all the time especially when I struggle with all the same stuff like she does.

  I&apos;ve loved mlp for years and during the height of the fandom (and even today) Luna is the absolute fan favourite. I think it&apos;s interesting because she doesn&apos;t appear in the show all that much, yet people really resonate with her. I think she&apos;s one of the most relatable characters on the show. She&apos;s vulnerable, the struggles with guilt, insecurities, regret, and loneliness. Watching Luna slowly grow and evolve into a happier and healthier individual can be very inspiring for those who have felt the same.

  luna reminds me a lot of sci-twi from equestria girls.. constantly ignored or overshadowed and she just had enough and used her magic for evil, once she was &quot;free&quot; she lived with the guilt and trauma of what she did and is so scared that history will repeat itself (also constantly having nightmares about midnight sparkle) but with the help of her community, she was able to move on (almost like luna&apos;s story but a bit more grounded lol)

  I&apos;m going to go out on a limb and say something which I think people don&apos;t discuss very much: the tragic story of Luna&apos;s fall and redemption is the main reason MLP:FIM became popular with a wider audience. It&apos;s such an incredible opening for the show that immediately hooks people. <br>I think if FIM&apos;s premier two-parter was something else more mundane, I don&apos;t think the show would have taken off in the way it did. <br>I LOVE FIM&apos;s storybook opening. It&apos;s perfect.

  I made a pony OC, named Evening Star, or Eve for short, who is a big fan of Luna, nighttime, etc. They live an almost nocturnal lifestyle, and they hate that everypony else is only awake during the day, they&apos;re missing out on the beauty of the stars and the night sky that they&apos;ve devoted their life to mapping and studying. At one point they even began to hate daytime and the sun for being too bright to see the other stars 24/7. I had an idea that they find out about that alternate universe where Nightmare Moon wins and tries to travel there to live out their dream life.

  Something I often overlook as a self-harmer is that I can’t hurt myself without hurting the people who love me. The first time I watched the tantabus episode I was really emotional and I didn’t realize why at first. It’s such a dark topic for a kids show but despite that it’s an important thing to be aware of

  Would I have been banished for a thousand years, I would have been pure wrath when returning. <br>I would have loved to see the consequences on the population when she blocked the sun. How the general population struggled just to have a better idea of what she felt so guilty about. <br>That said, it&apos;s great that they made her a kind of therapist who&apos;s working with other ponies on a subconscious level. <br><br>Her being night themed, working alone literally in the shadows, made her one of my favourite characters in the show, as I can relate to working in background, keeping things running quietly. <br>Great analysis, as always.
