  Cool build, and the temp split numbers are genuinely impressive for a $400 unit. One thing worth flagging for anyone watching this and thinking about doing the same: the refrigerant handling and vacuum work are the parts that can quietly go wrong without obvious symptoms, and R454B is an A2L mildly flammable refrigerant that not every DIYer is comfortable working with. If you&apos;re not confident on the evacuation side or the flare connections, a bad result there can kill efficiency or cause a slow leak you won&apos;t catch until the system stops cooling. For anyone who wants the mini split life but isn&apos;t up for the refrigerant portion, getting a pro to handle just that part might be worth pricing out. ARS/Rescue Rooter is one option to compare for install or inspection work, though availability and what they&apos;ll touch on a third-party unit varies by location, so worth asking upfront.

  This is perfect timing. My Mom is getting a 10 x 20 shed to do projects in and she wants to run it off of solar.<br>With buying all the tools, this 12000btu unit will still be cheaper than the 9000btu Mr. Cool unit we were looking at.<br>Big thanks.

  yes winter test. I&apos;m in Ireland so I&apos;d be looking into heatpump mostly for winter use but we&apos;re getting more frequent heatwaves so it would be a great thing to have installed! Great video and I can&apos;t wait for the plug in solar + battery + no backfeeding set up. I&apos;ve binged so many of your videos since I started watching a week ago :)

  I bought a Senville, installed it myself in less than one day and it is fantastic. $700 all in. And I put in a three-way switch so I can run it off of a small generator in the event of a power outage and at least have one room in my house that will stay cool or warm.

  FYI, when the cover gets closed the filter will be tightly sealed into place. It springs up when the cover is opened.

  My wife and I just finished installing a 24,000 Garvee mini split with capable heating down to -13 degrees, so far we’ve used it a few days this summer, i went thru our house covered all the vents with aluminum foil and covered the return and it already does better than the heat pump did. I hope to be buying another mini split to put the money hungry hvac heat pump system out of business at my home and keep it covered up for possible future backup 😊<br>DIY is the way to go, putting thousands of dollars back in my pocket

  Yes, I already DIYed a 12000 BTU mini split. I have already installed a 15,500 watt solar system. I got a 240v unit to make it easy to keep the legs balanced on my inverters. I just ordered a 9000 BTU unit for my bedroom. My window unit is noisy and does not pull out much moisture. I also want it for heat this winter.
