  Tried this strategy exactly the way he did it. Although it was about 50/50 for my neighborhood being interested, the trash collection is included in our monthly property tax so there is no way to opt out of the current company. The man in this video got lucky to live in a neighborhood that does private trash collection, many places do not do this.

  My wife is a Property Manager on a 45 Units Apartment in Orange County, CA. They pay $18500 a month for 8 Dumpster with one pick up a week. This business is in my back pocket.

  Classical entrepreneurship. Identified a common problem. Solved it.<br>I&apos;m just surprised that the govt didn&apos;t come up with a way to threaten him with jail for being entrepreneurial.

  A person needs to buy the truck, you have to note, in some areas such as where I live, (non-HOA) but garbage bill is funneled into my local water bill. Then garbage trucks are notoriously needy for repairs and maintenance. Then you have to pay to dump in your local garbage fill. Then Gas isn’t cheap nor free, then tires at least 1x per year gotta be changed, this business is a perfect example of right place right time to start

  This is awesome. &nbsp;As someone who worked as a tech for Waste management you are going to go tires a lot especially if you drive the truck into the land fill instead of a tipping area. &nbsp;Also you need to find a mechanic who has waste experience or get really good at turning wrenches yourself. &nbsp;I hope you have a few down days that you can go over and work on the truck. &nbsp;Make sure you keep up on maintenance otherwise it will show its ugly head one way or another.

  My father in law got mad at waste management once back in the 90s. He start his own trash company called EcoTex. Took the city of Granbury Tx account from them. Ot grew so fast that IESI came in and bought them out for like 3Million dollars. He started with half ton trucks and like trailers with cages, and quickly had to buy trash trucks.

  We&apos;ve been doing junk removal in south east Florida since 2021. It&apos;s a great business to be in! Great thing about trash/junk is that everyone has it and will always need it to some degree.

  I used to own an HVAC company. &nbsp;I bought many U-Haul style box trucks from the USPS and converted them into installation trucks. &nbsp;I got a 24 ft box truck with like 30K miles for $2500 or maybe $4000 from a US Gov auction. &nbsp;I simply paid a local mechanic, I think it was $120 or $140 to go do a vehicle inspection and test drive of it. &nbsp;Then flew out to CA to drive it back to AZ. &nbsp;I often spent more on the installation of hydraulics lifts and the company logo wraps than I did the trucks.
