A very enjoyable presentation about history.

Here's one for you, regarding tobacco.

In 1855, during the battle of Sevastopol, a Zouave (Crimean soldier - modern times within Ukrainian Sovereign territory), had his tobacco pipe smashed by a stray bullet. During that time flintlock rifles were the munitions carried by foot soldiers, they carried a "book" of very thin and fine papers which they "charged" with black powder from flasks and horns, this ordinance was then tamped into the rifle barrel.
This "Combatant" with his smashed pipe used one of these papers to make a hand rolled cigarette - and " rolling papers" were born.

That’s a remarkable piece of history that you have uncovered and presented here. Thank you! How cool would it be if something like that was available to us today?

great video, I have eaten at Keens a number of times. i would take the train from Princeton Nj and would meet up with some old neighborhood friends from High school. I even have a clay pipe that I got from there. A little extra trivia, at one-time Keens would order 5000 Clay pipes a year. Ed

Salorman Jack, the first president of the New York Pipe Club and the guy that first made the recipe for Billy Budd once told me he had a pipe there.
