  People don't realize how shocking it was to hear Kirk say "Let's get the hell out of here." You didn't say that in 1960's TV. It was a punch in the face.

  As bad as Kirk felt by having to let the love of his life die, it must have been yet another stab in his heart when McCoy asks him, "Jim, do you know what you just did? I could have saved her!!" - Spock just says, "He knows doctor.". 😢

  When she was on the TV show Dynasty, Joan Collins children were having a hard time in school because their classmates thought that the role she played in on TV was her real personality. The school allowed her to come to the school and give a lecture on acting and playing different characters. She showed the kids this episode as an example of one of the roles that she played.

  That just slight voice crack from Shatner there when saying, "Lets get the hell out of here." was perfect.

  One of the &quot;problems&quot; that Gene had with Harlan&apos; Ellison&apos;s original script was that it involved an officer with PTSD who&apos;s a drug addict and he&apos;s the one who accidentally goes to the past, not McCoy.<br>Gene didn&apos;t like the idea that there were still drug addicts in that time.<br>Also, in the original script, Spock had to stop Edith from being saved because Kirk couldn&apos;t bring himself to do it because of his love for Edith.<br>Gene felt that as the main hero of the show, Kirk should be the one who prevents Edith from being saved, thereby saving the timeline.
