Funny how it's the guy that sits in a lab all day says they are docile and curious, but the guys that actually dive and interact with them that say the animal is a killer. Personally, I tend to believe the divers!

I read an article in National Geographic years ago about a diver in the Sea of Cortez.  The diver was attacked by multiple squids, and the fact that he survived was a miracle.

Give them a few minutes and they'll figure out how to overcome that anti-squid suit. They'd probably think you're something like a crab or lobster and treat it like a carapace.

I am absolutely fascinated by the intelligence of cephalopodes! They are truly alien intelligent beings. But it’s almost tragic that squids, cuttlefish and octopuses are trapped in bodies with a very short life expectancy! It seems such a waste of brain power! Especially octopuses could really achieve something with their intelligence and dexterity. This is especially impressive because unlike the squids, they  are solitary creatures, and while it has been shown that octopuses can learn from observing others, they don't have a lot of opportunity to do so in the wild. They must figure out everything by themselves  and they cannot teach their offsprings.

Its amazing how our arrogance knows no bounds, whether we go into the ocean the jungle or the forest,  we seem stunned that the predators in these areas don't realize how special we think that we are, surprise surprise.

Homeboy is proud of his Star Wars Wasp Anti squid suit....love his smile...then again he is diving around 6 ft long squids, I would call him no less brave if he wore a Hello Kitty Hardsuit

I find them fascinating, especially their way of communicating, but I wouldn't say they are kind.. They attack and try to eat each other all the time.
