35:55 This was absolutely mesmerizing. I’ve always been fascinated by octopuses, but I had no idea that each arm has its own mini-brain—that’s like something out of science fiction! It blows my mind that these soft-bodied creatures can outsmart predators and even crush the armor of crabs. I’m so grateful for the researchers and the underwater vehicles that make it possible for us to witness these moments in the deep sea. These animals are like ghosts of the ocean, floating through the darkness with grace and intelligence. I’d love to know how climate change is affecting their habitats—are their growing numbers a good or bad sign for the ocean? Anyone else here obsessed with cephalopods now?

Octopus and cuttlefish are amazing creatures with almost magical characteristics, but live such a short life.

Those sally lightfoot crabs are incredible! I’ve lived most of my life 5 minutes from the ocean in the Northeast, I’ve seen tons of crabs, but I’ve never seen a crab not only leap from rock to rock, but run across the top of the water. Most crabs move slow, in fact, I’d always understood that the shell was there because they can’t move fast enough to run away, but apparently one type of crab can. They’re like ninja crabs!
