The reason the cutouts were open was so you couldn't hear the knock

Being in Western NY, $7500 that would be a good deal w/o a drive line, let alone set up for a big block. Given the plethora of quality of speed parts, I think you did alright.

Eric O at South Main Auto always says, "Not all cars at the auction are junk, but all junk cars are at the auction." That being said, I think this one is a still a great, fixable, car. Someone definitely knew it had problems and just took it to the auction to get rid of it. We all make mistakes. At least this one has a spectacular base and not all rusted out.

7,400 bucks is a steal man. Such a rad color with the brown inside. They don’t make em this cool anymore

7500 for that? Even with a bad engine that’s good price in my mind. There are a ton of good parts in the engine still. Find another bottom end or rebuild that one. You’ll make back your money in YouTube money making videos about it.

This is the nicest car you have done in a long time. Even if the engine is junk, I am sure you fix that since the car is so nice. I don't think it was a bad purchase.
