It's so sad that Miyamoto and Yoshiaki were never able to properly combine their love for gameplay and story into one game. There's so many amazing games out there that manage to do both flawlessly.

Imagine being those devs, Miyamoto storms into the office, yells about blue skies and planet holes, leaves, and you somehow have to make that into an interesting part of the game.

I am glad they changed Starship Mario to have a unique look with button eyes because DAMN that soulless accurate Mario head is uncanny.

As much as I love Miyamoto-San for creating the Super Mario franchise. His reasoning for the lack of story elements in the games confounds me to no end.
