The music of the 80s didn’t just play in our ears—it lived in our hearts, shaping our dreams, our memories, and the way we felt the world.
It wasn’t only about sound—it was about feeling and imagination. Those synths, drum machines, and soaring melodies carried optimism, mystery, and sometimes a sweet kind of melancholy. Songs felt cinematic, like they were telling your life story even before you lived it.

I seriously don't understand how anyone could dislike Depeche Mode. They are literally one of the best bands ever.

I think this is one of the songs that best characterise Depeche Mode songs - yearnings, disappointments, unreciprocated love, melancholy. RIP Andy Fletcher.

Back when music was dark, mysterious, and seductive. I feel like there was a maturity in the songwriting and music back then that is immensely lacking today.

I lost my husband a little over a year ago. I have such happy memories of us together and this song. Brings me right back to a time and place where we were madly in love and happy with each other and being together. It's almost too much for me to bare.... RIP Bill, I miss you more than any words could ever say. Forever in my heart.

"never again, is what you swore, the time before" is one of the greatest lines in music history in my humble opinion.
