  Delighted to see the progress on Stoke Hall since I had watched the original video made after the Drury’s bought it in 2009. Here watching in 2026.   Quite an undertaking and achievement indeed.

  I love this series and The Pumping Station is gorgeous. It was originally a proudly designed building to celebrate modern life saving technology. Now it has been celebrated once again as a representative of modern life technology and instead of noisy machines, there are happy family voices.<br>And a big friendly Dog . Well done. I wish you years of happiness in your very old , very new Home.

  For me light-coloured flagstones would have been better than black slate, and they&apos;re beautiful with carpet runners on top

  Listing is really a double edged sword and in many cases a further death sentence for many building at risk. Listing a building will not keep it standing or preserve it, only people and money can do that and when you do buy one, you have to spend so much more money and jump through so many hoops that it makes it almost impossible. In order to give these buildings a chance they should be sold for ONE euro/pound so that the buyers can invest more in restoration. You can&apos;t have it both ways, either the keep the ruin or see it restored.

  A family friend owned Stoke Hall in the late 70s, its haunted! beautiful home

  Please explain to me why when these magnificent buildings are basically falling apart that the rules and regulations are so stringent. I understand preserving the Heritage and History. Maybe more buildings can be saved before they crumble.

  You have vast amounts of room, have you thought of starting up an antique’s shop? We have many here in the Finger Lakes area in upstate New York. They have varied hours to suit their lifestyle. Just an idea.
